BridgeCheck - versatile and precise bridge structural monitoring

AV Technology provide a comprehensive bridge structural monitoring service for Councils, Engineering Houses and Civil Engineering Contractors. Projects are undertaken for short, medium and long term monitoring.

We have over 25 years experience in providing structural monitoring of many structures including bridges, buildings and embankments. Our capabilities include the on-site measurement of real data relating to the behaviour of structures under ambient and in-service loadings, and the subsequent analysis and assessment of measured data that you can Trust.

AVT’s capabilities range from installing strain gauges for stress measurement to monitoring vibration, displacement, angle, load, pressure and temperature, all of which can be measured simultaneously under static and dynamic loadings. Geodetic monitoring techniques provide additional data, whilst special wireless sensor systems allow permanent remote data collection. Warning thresholds can be set to warn relevant personnel of structural changes outside pre set limits.

Accurate in-service loading and structural response data is critical when decisions have to be made with regards to the safety and long term durability of bridges. Often our projects involve supporting your:

  • Bridge structural integrity assessments
  • Bridge strengthening and repair design work
  • Design verification following remedial work

Health and Safety issues are of paramount importance when carrying out bridge monitoring and AVT have developed their remote high resolution BridgeCheck digital imaging system for remote monitoring of structures.  Already proven by AVT in the Nuclear Industry for monitoring cracks in concrete structures, BridgeCheck is ideal for monitoring movement and crack behaviour in older type masonry and steel bridges

Accuracies of +/-0.5 mm at distances of 500 metre away are achievable using this method.
